Halbert & Mills was established in 2019 by Megan Schreck. With the help of her Sous Chef, Ruben Mendoza, and their adorable dogs Hal and Millie, the team strives to create only the finest and most delicious baked goods. From cupcakes and cakes, to cookies and more, Halbert and Mills will be your favorite go-to for any and all tasty treats. Megan Schreck
Head Baker
Megan Schreck is the head baker at Halbert & Mills. An animal lover, Disney fan girl, and band geek; Megan got her start in the animal work getting a degree in Veterinary Technology and eventually working with camps and overnights at Brookfield Zoo. Megan started baking in 2010 as a hobby, and it's turned into a life long love; eventually leading to the creation of Halbert & Mills.
Ruben Mendoza
Sous Chef
Ruben Mendoza is the Sous Chef of Halbert & Mills, joining the team in July of 2018. By day, Ruben is the supervisor of patient transport at Edwards hospital. Ruben also has been named the "official taste tester" and "cut offs eater" of the Halbert & Mills Kitchen. Ruben loves m&m's, whisky, and spending quality family time in front of the TV.
Millie
Assistant
Sous Chef
Millie is a chihuahua mix who was rescued in August 2016 from the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College. She joined the team immediately after being adopted, always supervising in the kitchen, and insuring the highest quality. Millie also loves her tennis ball, stealing bones from her brother, and long walks in nature.
Hal
Floor Licker
Hal (aka Halbert) is the youngest and newest member of Halbert & Mills, rescued in August of 2019 from the Vet Tech Institute at Fox College. Hal also joined the team immediately after being adopted, but hasn't quite gotten the hang of things in the kitchen. He much prefers to lick the floor regardless of whether or not anything has been dropped, earning him the title "Floor Licker".
